Allison has...

come to the realization that it's time for me to grow up. It's about time I get a job, license, a car...

I hopefully have an interview coming up with BestBuy. It just so happens, that I know the GM of the store, Louis Hogan...otherwise known as "Phil's Dad" to me lol Phillip was the only senior on Pike's basketball team other than me. His family is really awesome and I certainly hope "Phil's Dad" gives me a chance!

Unfortunately, basketball came to an end with a 64-58 2OT loss to Princeton, the only home loss in The Jungle this season. We were without our senior PG, Billy Pettiford due to an emergency appendectomy the night before. They just ran out of energy, especially with only 5 players putting in most of the time...John Ashworth put in 48/50 minutes on the court that night and Princeton was just too much.

I am so glad I had the opportunity to work with the team this year and can't wait for the next 3 years :]

MARCH MADNESS!

March Madness OFFICIALLY begins TODAY!!! aaaahhhhhhh!!
This (in my opinion) is most definintely the most fantastically amazing part of March lol
Got to <3 just chillin and watchin hour after hour after hour of basketball :]

I have 3 brackets and 2-3 have kansas winning it all and all have kansas and kentucky going to the championship...

My 3 final 4s are:

kansas, butler, kentucky, duke
kansas, butler, kentucky, notre dame
kansas, byu, kentucky, baylor

I almost never do well in the big tourney...but who cares?? Its all fun and games to me :) hahaha

But on a better note...regardless of the fact that we got beat in the conference championship (and lost the chance to be in the big dance...) we accepted a bid to play in the CBI tournament. We played, and beat, Hofstra last night and now get to play Princeton in the Jungle on Monday night at 7 pm.

Sooooo....if you're lookin for somethin fun and exciting to do Monday night...
IUPUI vs PRINCETON. IUPUI natatorium (aka THE JUNGLE) 7 pm. and it's a BLACKOUT!!!

Be there, or be square! lol :D

oh...and GO JAGS!!!

uncle andy

My Uncle Andy passed away this morning around 7:30.

This isn't exactly unexpected. He had been fighting cancer for six years now. About 6 months ago, he was told that he only had 6-9 months to live...well, those 6 months are up and he is gone. He never told anyone in our family until a few weeks ago. I feel so lost and I'm trying so hard to be strong for my mom because I can see that she's hurting...but I don't know what to do.

All I can say is that I am grateful that my grandparents were sealed in the temple and that my own family was sealed so that I can see him again someday.

I love you, and may God be with you til we meet again!

Institute! :D

I have come to discover that institute has been such a blessing in my life. More now, than ever because of my calling in my home ward. Because of my calling in the nursery, I am unable to attend sunday school and relief society.

Institute has been a great "replacement", you might say for those two classes I miss out on every sunday. The good thing about institute?? It's actually people closer to my own age and we have a pretty fantastic teacher :]

I have been missing out on quite a few sessions of institute, which basically takes place of the yw and ym programs in the home wards. I have been travelling a lot with the team lately and have missed at least 3 out of the last 5 :(

Once basketball is done, however, I will not only be able to attend institute...but quite possibly FHE as well! I have not been so excited to attend institute until lately and have discovered that without it and the scriptures, I may have struggled even more with all that has been going on.

The YSA are so fun to be around! And, now that they are "old enough" to join, I have been able to see Jannah, Travis, and Jack pretty much every week! (something that hasn't happened since YC this past summer...) I have been blessed with some of the most amazing friends in the entire world! <3

I am truly blessed to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I know that my Savior lives and that he loves me. I am grateful for the sealings because I have been blessed to come into a great, loving family and I love the knowledge that I have that I will be able to be with them forever!! I know the church is the true church of our Heavenly Father and his Son and that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God. I know that President Monson is the true Prophet today. I have been so blessed and am grateful for every new day that I am able to live.

gettin back into the swing of things...?

This week was pretty much the same as every other, with the exception that I didn't get to travel with the team this week :'(
I haven't seen them in 2 weeks and am going through some serious, SERIOUS withdrawals...it's not pretty lol

I can't really remember much about this week except goin to 3...yes, THREE Pike games with daddy. Tuesday was just a JV game, however. Wednesday was just Varsity, but they played at Conseco vs LN. Wednesday was the first time since before Greg Oden (Portland Trail Blazers) and Mike Conley (Memphis Grizzlies) were there that Pike won :D

Friday, last regular season game, was senior night. I am so glad I had the opportunity to know each and every one of them! They took on Warren Central and JV lost, but Varsity won! yay!! lol

Saturday, Daddy and I went up to warsaw to see Uncle Andy and Aunt Kirstyn and their families. It was so great to see them all and I can only hope that I can have many more opportunities to see each of them, esp Uncle Andy.

I also had the opportunity to spend some time with Alex Green. We are doing somewhat better than we were before and are at least on speaking terms. We went to the movies and saw "Valentine's Day". I thought the movie was absolutely hilarious and extra adorable :]

Hopefully, this past week will be a sign of good things to come??
One can only hope!!!
