...opportunities...

This past week and a half or so has been really amazing for me. Each day, I was blessed to have many, MANY opportunities to share about the church and the gospel.

I absolutely love being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints!

We've had the missionaries over almost every Sunday for the past 3-4 months and they are soooo awesome! They have such a strong and sweet spirit about them and they have helped our family become closer :D

02 October 2010

Proof that Sportsmanship Still Exists

I saw this article on the Yahoo! homepage and just couldn't resist reading it. These teams are truly groups of individuals that still know what sportsmanship is and how to show it. The story and video most definitely made me cry and put me in a fantastic mood. It's about a student on a football team that scored a 51 yard TD in a Varsity football game last week. Normally, it wouldn't be all that impressive, but Ike Ditzenberger has Down Syndrome. His and the opposing team made it possible for Ike to score, probably making last Friday night one of the best of his life thus far. It's moments like these that truly make me proud to be an American and it gives me hope that maybe, just maybe...sportsmanship does still exist in this world.

I hope the videos work...

this first one is the one Ike scored last year in a Junior Varsity game.

this next one is the one he scored on Friday night.

you can read the whole story at:

Truly inspiring, isn't it? <3

24 August 2010

its that time of year...again

Soooooo....school's started up again lol

I'm not sure if I'm excited or what, but my classes are pretty good so that helps out. I'm taking 13 credit hours instead of the 16 I was gonna take.

I'm planning on moving out as well, but I NEED to get a job first. Hopefully I can find one at the student employment fair this Thursday... [cross your fingers for me!] haha

ECLIPSE=EPIC!!

My visiting teacher gave me an advanced pass to go see the Twilight saga:Eclipse last night :]

First off...it was TOTALLY.FANTASTIC!! The movie is so intense and most definitely my favorite of the year so far :D

--oh...and might I say that Taylor Lautner still looks EXTRA hott hahaha

I've gotta say that I am sooooooo TEAM JACOB...screw Edward! lol

Cameras and phones weren't allowed in the theater, so the next 2 pics are ones I had to take at home.

................................here's the ticket...................................

...........................and here's the poster...............................

and...might I add, that I will MOST DEF be going to see it more than once hahaha

20 June 2010

yay me :P

Ok...so remember the first picture of sunburn I put on here a few weeks ago?? Well, I did it again! :(

Only difference this time?? it's my face and neck.

As you look at the following photo...please resist the urges you have of calling me a tomato and singing the veggie tales song (unlike my sister...)

Maybe next time, I won't be so stubborn and I'll put on the dag-on sunscreen!

17 June 2010

The Best Time of the Year...

So...I have recently come to a conclusion that these past four weeks...yes, these EXACT weeks, are the best of the year.

You might be thinking something along the lines of: "Well Allison, why exactly is that?"

And my answer is...it's just the fact that pretty much ALL of the sports finals are RIGHT.NOW!

The Stanley Cup just finished, the NBA finals are finishing up tonight...and the World Cup will be on for the next many weeks. What more could a girl ask for?? lol

Some of you all may know who won...but I'm gonna tell ya anyways :]

The winners of the Stanley Cup were [drum roll please...] none other than the Chicago Blackhawks!

And the other two aren't yet finished...but my pick for 2010 NBA Champions...?? Would most definitely NOT be the Lakers...soooooo...GOOOOO CELTICS!!

I really don't have a favorite team for the World Cup...but I most DEF have a favorite player...I'll show you a photo and see if you can tell me why...haha

CRISTIANO...

RONALDO :D

Being a total hometown girl, I gotta go for the good 'ole U.S of A...but I'm also a total sucker for Italia y EspaƱa...don't ask lol
--btw...I think everyone should read the following article:

http://g.sports.yahoo.com/soccer/world-cup/news/dempsey-celebrates-goals-with-happiness-and--fbintl_ro-dempsey061610.html

(...you'll have to copy & paste this in your web browser...)

It's a really sweet and very touching article :)

10 June 2010

:/

ok...so the end of last week wasn't so great as I had hoped.

I ended up catching a cold and dealing with allergies :P

-and.......on top of that...I got an ear infection.

I went to the doctor yesterday and she confirmed what I did not want to know. I think I waited too long to go to the doctor and the infection is pretty bad. Back in my sophomore year in high school, my eardrum actually busted and has been scarred ever since. This time around, it hasn't burst...but I have lost most of my hearing in my left ear and my doctor said that I will most likely never have all of my hearing back :(

And on top of this sickness stuff, my boys lost to Noblesville in the first round of the regional. This is the first time in years that they have won any postseason games and the first time in even more years that they finished with a .500 record in a season lol

-so...even if they did lose, I'm still so proud of them :]

............................................................................................

I have been 'interning' with my dad this week...I now know what it feels like to sit behind a desk for hours and hours at a time, and I really don't like it hahahaha

...hope everyone has a great weekend!!

02 June 2010

HOORAY!!!

So, besides the ridiculous sunburn...this week has been pretty fantastic so far! It's only Wednesday, and I cannot wait to see what the rest of this week has in store for me. Here's how my week has been thus far:

Sunday: church. David, Dominique, and Drew's openhouse. Visiting Teaching. INDY 500.

Monday: baseball, Baseball, and you guessed it...more BASEBALL! the Pike Red Devils beat Brownsburg to advance to the sectional finals on Tuesday.

Tuesday's score against Brownsburg!

Tuesday: chill day con mi hermana. BASEBALL sectional...PIKE WINS!!! This is the first time since 1995 since Pike has won a baseball sectional! then, off to the airport to get Gramma Risch. While at the airport...who could we possibly run into?? Well, it was DANNY GRANGER from the Indiana Pacers!! I couldn't believe it! I was soooo nervous to ask for a picture, so daddy did instead lol :]

This is Aaron Snyder. He hit a walk off GRAND SLAM to win the game!!!

I may not go to Pike anymore...but these are my boys and I'm so proud of them! SECTIONAL CHAMPS BABY!!!

And this, my friends...is Danny Granger! He's pretty hott don't ya think?? haha :D

Wednesday: we took gramma home and tonight is institute!

This week has been absolutely, super duper, fantastically, amazing!

01 June 2010

It's that time of year again!

I'm not sure if it's officially summer yet...but it most certainly feels like it! Well, as everyone knows...yesterday was Memorial Day.

What some may not know, is that it's postseason time for baseball. And yep, you guessed it...I was outside pretty much ALL day. Only bad part?? The ridiculous lookin sunburn! hahaha

My legs and arms got totally fried lol

Here's a photo of my right arm (which is the worst out of everything :P)

29 May 2010

yet again

I had another reminder the other day about living life for me.

I was talking to Zack, one of the guys on the baseball team a couple of days ago and he shared a quote with me that really impressed me.

He said:

"He who makes a beast of himself gets rid of the pain of being a man."

In other words, live your life and stop living up to what others want and more for what you want.

Thanks again Zack! :]

20 May 2010

this one's for me

Lately, I've been trying figure out ME. Trying to figure out why I feel like I'm so alone. Why I don't feel like fighting anymore. Why I'm tired of depending on others.

I still haven't figured any of this out...but what I do know is that I'm not letting others tear me down anymore and that I'm tired of trying to be who I used to be just because others want me to be the 'old allison'. Well, that's too darn bad...because I'm sick of it and this is the end.

I was talking to a friend, Janai Rhodes tonight. She just had her official last day of high school and we got on the topic of friends and how most of our friends are underclassmen and much younger than us. I told her that we're both very much alike, except for the fact that I don't even talk to those who I consider the best of my best friends anymore...mainly because others don't want me to. People like my mom...and Alex. Alex said that me still hanging out with the high school students was a main reason as to why she started "distancing" herself from me.

Janai said something to me that kinda stuck with me...

"I figure if people are meant to stay in my life, they just will. It shouldn't take so much effort."

I've come to a conclusion...that I'm no longer going to let my mom, or Alex, tell me who I can and can't be friends with. And, I'm no longer going to put so much energy and effort into trying to be friends with people when it just seems like they don't want to be a part of it. Like Janai said...if they were meant to be in my life, then they will be there in the end...if not, then I'm not gonna put the extra effort into trying to make them see that I'm worth their time and love.

This is who I am, take it or leave it. If you don't like ME for ME...then I guess it just wasn't meant to happen.

19 May 2010

...idk...

this post is mainly because i saw that i had 33 posts and that just drove me INSANE...mainly because odd numbers bother me to death! lol

here's to a great day! i hope everyone's was the just as fantastic as mine! <3

15 May 2010

...not so childhood dreams...

I watched the movie Bride Wars tonight (because my plans fell through. again.)
I remember when I first saw the movie in the theater...I went with Alex and we absolutely love, love, loved the movie. We loved it so much! Right after the movie, we went and bought bridal magazines so we could be just like Kate Hudson and Anne Hathaway's characters.

They put together something somewhat like a scrapbook of how they wanted their weddings: flowers, colors schemes, cake, all the way down to the dress. We were going to do the same thing...

Watching this movie tonight reminded me that, unfortunately, we never actually got that far. I don't even think we made it all the way through the bunch of magazines we bought. They're still sitting in her room somewhere. It also reminded me of how close we used to be and it hurts to think that we will probably never be that way again.

But, I know I'll be okay with that. I've been trying with everything I am to try and be 'close' again, but I've decided that I really don't have the energy anymore.

We've both been through a lot since our friendship ended and neither of us quite knows the extent of it. I want it to be like it used to be, but I'm done living in the past...I've even removed most of the stuff from my room and walls that reminded me of high school because I realize that I've grown up and I have better stuff to worry about and think about.

...ok...back to the movie...

At the very end of the film, there's a quote that I once sent to Alex when our problems first began and I'd like to share that with you all tonight.

"Sometimes in life, there really are bonds that are formed that can never be broken. Sometimes you really can find that one person who will stand by you no matter what. Maybe you'll find it in a spouse and celebrate it with your dream wedding...but there is also the chance that the one person you can count on for a lifetime, the one person who knows you, sometimes better than you know yourself, is the same person who's been standing beside you all along."

Of course I still have dreams about how I want my wedding to be, but I guess I'll have to plan them on my own now or with my future 'hubby-to-be'.

In my heart, I know that those memories we shared were some of the best times of my life. But I also know that they are in the past and I'm learning to deal with that...as hard as it may be, I'm learning.

13 May 2010

Nursery Time!

Okey dokey...so not many people know this, but I serve in the nursery at church and I absolutely love, Love, LOVE it with all my heart!

I was called about 6 or so months ago. Brother Heist asked me to watch over one of the most loving and adorable boys ever, Tyler :]

They asked me to specifically watch Tyler because he has had problems with biting and hair-pulling (which I have had the pleasure of experiencing firsthand) lol

This boy is sooooooo full of love and is so excited with life. When you hang out with Ty, all you can do is smile because of how sweet he is!!

I'm not sure how old this photo is because I stole it from Kristine's blog...but here's my TyTy :D

I wish I could find more photos of all the kiddos I get to spend 2 amazing hours with every Sunday, but I could only find pictures of Tyler and my favorite Trent.

*I also took this one from Jessica's blog...I believe it said he was 16 months in this pic, but it's still as adorable as ever!!

~I'm startin to think there should be another verse in "There is Sunshine in my Soul Today".

"There are children in my soul today! With lots of smiles and hugs!"

...I can't think of anything else that should go in that verse, but Imma work on it and get back to yall later! lol

All those kiddos are pretty much my best friends in the whole entire world and I love them with my whole heart. They truly bring sunshine into my life.

My Testimony

ok...so I've been havin lots of spiritual moments lately, or maybe I've just been in that sort of mood lol

There have been times within the past week that I've just wanted to stand up and shout my testimony of the church and gospel to the world...I just haven't quite figured out how to do that yet, but I figured here would be a good place to start.

I have been looking at videos on youtube that are of some of my most favorite hymns and the following one is my favorite so far:

(be sure to turn off the background music first...)

I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true. I feel it everytime I step foot into the chapel and one of His holy temples. I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God and that he helped to restore the true church on the Earth. I know that Thomas S. Monson is the living prophet on the Earth today. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and it has been such a blessing in my life. And perhaps the most important and prominent part of my testimony is that I KNOW THAT MY REDEEMER LIVES and loves me for me...what more could I ask for? I have truly been blessed.

02 May 2010

Who Am I?

I watched an episode of One Tree Hill the other day & it really stuck with me. It was on stereotyping. In the episode, they were asked to describe each other using four words: "geek", "prom queen", "jock", and "friendly" (a nice way of saying they're easy lol)

It got me thinking about which one I would be considered. I don't consider myself to be a "geek" because I'm actually pretty technologically challenged lol I also was neer popular enough to be considered a "prom queen" and I'm not a "jock" because I'm only the manager now. I'm sure as heck not "friendly" either haha

So, what am I? I figured I'd come up with some things that truly describe who I am and what I'm all about...this is what I came up with:

I am LDS and proud of it. I'm the 2nd out of 3 children. A SERIOUS daddy's girl. Music is my safe-haven...where I find the most peace. I <3 LOVE <3 sports with almost everything I am. I enjoy the smell of the gym...one of the most comforting places for me is the basketball court. I love my violin; I wish I had more time to play it because it certainly deserves a day out of the case! lol My two favorite bands are DAUGHTRY and LIFEHOUSE. They're all I listen to at the moment. I don't have any 'best friends'. I used to...but now I don't really talk to anyone other than Stephanie Earhart. I love to run. It's my biggest stress reliever. I'm short...REALLY short...like 5'1" short. I get made fun of all the time for it, but I've learned to take the jokes and run with them :) I'm blonde, but I say I'm brunette...that way I can get away with more "blonde moments" hahaha I absolutely love to read. I wish I had more time for that too...right now, I'm on a Ted Dekker kick & think that everyone should read at least 1 of his books :D My family isn't what I would call "close". It's alwasy been me & daddy, Jennifer & mom. I've lived in the same house for 12 years. I graduated from Pike High School in a class of more than 600, the largest in PHS history so far. The best summer of my life was '08 when I got to go to Italy...I want to go back someday. I HATE rain, snow, sleet, hail..any form of precipitation really lol I despise birds. I think they're disgusting, evil, creepy creatures. My major is sports management, but that probably doesn't surprise anyone. I still attend my home ward...not singles...NOT YET. haha I serve in the nursery. I love this calling with everything I am! Even though I don't attend the singles ward, I do attend institute on wednesdays. It's a total blast and Bro Simpson is the best teacher EVER!!! I sometimes wish i had less acquaintances and more actual friends. I often feel lonely because of it. I've never been in a relationship and I've only been on one date my whole life. I didn't have my first kiss until I was 18 & I'm pretty sure my parents still don't know lol even though I've never been in a relationship, I've discovered that I'm content being single. I can't, however, wait until I can be sealed in the temple for time and all eternity...to have a family :D I want to have lots of kids (hopefully a lot of boys haha) My favorite color is green. I don't wear a lot of jewelry or carry a purse...it makes me feel too girly. Most importanly, I am a child of God.

I could go on & on about me, but I'll spare everyone lol

I have come to a conclusion about those four words: "geek", "prom queen", "jock", and "friendly"...I am NONE of those.

I'M JUST ME. and that's all I really want to be!!! :]

22 April 2010

Random "all about me" Moment lol

I haven't updated in a lil while and couldn't think of anything to say other than "everything's goin great!!" so imma do a 'stuff about me' thing-a-majig lol

1. Instead of puttin on the "freshman 15", I've actually lost at least that much...

2. My favorite TV shows are One Tree Hill, GLEE, Secret Life of the American Teenager, Mercy, Ten Things I Hate About You, VAMPIRE DIARIES, and American Idol :]

3. Sports are pretty much my LIFE. I love everything about bein a manager at IUPUI for the men's basketball team. There's somethin about them that makes every aspect of my life just THAT much better!

4. It may surprise you that my favorite movies are actually chick flicks...hahaha

5. I've never had a boyfriend, and I'm really not in any hurry. When it happens, it happens lol

6. It may not look like I eat. EVER. But the truth is...I eat ALL the time...and lots of food too :D

7. I go to institute on Wednesdays, but I am NOT in the singles ward. I still go to my home ward and my calling is in the nursery. I <3 EVERY second of it!!

8. I almost ALWAYS have my headphones in (even tho only one side works) lol Music is where I find my happy place ;)

9. I wear 3 bracelets on my right wrist at all times. The first one is a bracelet my YL Leaders made for us at Young Women's camp. I haven't gone without it since I got it. The second is a bracelet with the "14 KEVIN MASSEY" on it for one of my fellow manager's cousin that was diagnosed with cancer halfway through this basketball season. The last one is my LIVESTRONG bracelet for my uncle Andy.

10. I just heard that one of my high school boys committed to KENTUCKY!! I've never been a huge UK fan, but now imma have to be lol GO WILDCATS!!! and congrats Mookie! <3 ya!!

30 March 2010

Allison has...

come to the realization that it's time for me to grow up. It's about time I get a job, license, a car...

I hopefully have an interview coming up with BestBuy. It just so happens, that I know the GM of the store, Louis Hogan...otherwise known as "Phil's Dad" to me lol Phillip was the only senior on Pike's basketball team other than me. His family is really awesome and I certainly hope "Phil's Dad" gives me a chance!

Unfortunately, basketball came to an end with a 64-58 2OT loss to Princeton, the only home loss in The Jungle this season. We were without our senior PG, Billy Pettiford due to an emergency appendectomy the night before. They just ran out of energy, especially with only 5 players putting in most of the time...John Ashworth put in 48/50 minutes on the court that night and Princeton was just too much.

I am so glad I had the opportunity to work with the team this year and can't wait for the next 3 years :]

18 March 2010

MARCH MADNESS!

March Madness OFFICIALLY begins TODAY!!! aaaahhhhhhh!!
This (in my opinion) is most definintely the most fantastically amazing part of March lol
Got to <3 just chillin and watchin hour after hour after hour of basketball :]

I have 3 brackets and 2-3 have kansas winning it all and all have kansas and kentucky going to the championship...

My 3 final 4s are:

kansas, butler, kentucky, duke
kansas, butler, kentucky, notre dame
kansas, byu, kentucky, baylor

I almost never do well in the big tourney...but who cares?? Its all fun and games to me :) hahaha

But on a better note...regardless of the fact that we got beat in the conference championship (and lost the chance to be in the big dance...) we accepted a bid to play in the CBI tournament. We played, and beat, Hofstra last night and now get to play Princeton in the Jungle on Monday night at 7 pm.

Sooooo....if you're lookin for somethin fun and exciting to do Monday night...
IUPUI vs PRINCETON. IUPUI natatorium (aka THE JUNGLE) 7 pm. and it's a BLACKOUT!!!

Be there, or be square! lol :D

oh...and GO JAGS!!!

05 March 2010

uncle andy

My Uncle Andy passed away this morning around 7:30.

This isn't exactly unexpected. He had been fighting cancer for six years now. About 6 months ago, he was told that he only had 6-9 months to live...well, those 6 months are up and he is gone. He never told anyone in our family until a few weeks ago. I feel so lost and I'm trying so hard to be strong for my mom because I can see that she's hurting...but I don't know what to do.

All I can say is that I am grateful that my grandparents were sealed in the temple and that my own family was sealed so that I can see him again someday.

I love you, and may God be with you til we meet again!
<3

04 March 2010

Institute! :D

I have come to discover that institute has been such a blessing in my life. More now, than ever because of my calling in my home ward. Because of my calling in the nursery, I am unable to attend sunday school and relief society.

Institute has been a great "replacement", you might say for those two classes I miss out on every sunday. The good thing about institute?? It's actually people closer to my own age and we have a pretty fantastic teacher :]

I have been missing out on quite a few sessions of institute, which basically takes place of the yw and ym programs in the home wards. I have been travelling a lot with the team lately and have missed at least 3 out of the last 5 :(

Once basketball is done, however, I will not only be able to attend institute...but quite possibly FHE as well! I have not been so excited to attend institute until lately and have discovered that without it and the scriptures, I may have struggled even more with all that has been going on.

The YSA are so fun to be around! And, now that they are "old enough" to join, I have been able to see Jannah, Travis, and Jack pretty much every week! (something that hasn't happened since YC this past summer...) I have been blessed with some of the most amazing friends in the entire world! <3

I am truly blessed to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I know that my Savior lives and that he loves me. I am grateful for the sealings because I have been blessed to come into a great, loving family and I love the knowledge that I have that I will be able to be with them forever!! I know the church is the true church of our Heavenly Father and his Son and that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God. I know that President Monson is the true Prophet today. I have been so blessed and am grateful for every new day that I am able to live.

01 March 2010

gettin back into the swing of things...?

This week was pretty much the same as every other, with the exception that I didn't get to travel with the team this week :'(
I haven't seen them in 2 weeks and am going through some serious, SERIOUS withdrawals...it's not pretty lol

I can't really remember much about this week except goin to 3...yes, THREE Pike games with daddy. Tuesday was just a JV game, however. Wednesday was just Varsity, but they played at Conseco vs LN. Wednesday was the first time since before Greg Oden (Portland Trail Blazers) and Mike Conley (Memphis Grizzlies) were there that Pike won :D

Friday, last regular season game, was senior night. I am so glad I had the opportunity to know each and every one of them! They took on Warren Central and JV lost, but Varsity won! yay!! lol

Saturday, Daddy and I went up to warsaw to see Uncle Andy and Aunt Kirstyn and their families. It was so great to see them all and I can only hope that I can have many more opportunities to see each of them, esp Uncle Andy.

I also had the opportunity to spend some time with Alex Green. We are doing somewhat better than we were before and are at least on speaking terms. We went to the movies and saw "Valentine's Day". I thought the movie was absolutely hilarious and extra adorable :]

Hopefully, this past week will be a sign of good things to come??
One can only hope!!!

18 February 2010

BLAH

these past two weeks have been absolutely awful to me...

monday: snow=skip 2nd class

tuesday: stayed home for much needed "personal day"

wednesday: left for shreveport, LA with the team...ALONE. i was the only manager to go on this 5 day trip.

thursday: ok day :]

friday: dallas getting snow= 7 1/2 bus trip to tulsa, OK from shreveport :/

saturday: game at ORU + bad game for my jags = 3rd conference losses by 3 pts or less :(

sunday: uncle butch passed away after having a massive stroke :'(

monday-tuesday: not too terrible...furiously trying to catch up on homework (and failing)

wednesday: received awful news about my uncle andy. he has been fighting cancer for many years now and we just learned that as of 6 months ago, he only had 6-9 months to live. this has been the toughest part of my week so far and am struggling with the most. he has become very weak and cannot even stay at church long enough to partake of the sacrament. all i've been doing is crying and praying that he lives long enough for me to be able to make a trip to see him.

i'm so happy to know that my family was sealed in the temple. that way, if i don't get to tell him how much i appreciate him and love him, i know i'll be able to see him again someday. i glad to know that i'll have another person to watch over me while i'm on this earth. i love you uncle andy!

there's a song that i've been listening to non-stop and it's the only one that expresses how i feel. its by kris allen, track 14...otherwise known as "angels" to me.

send me all your angels tonight, i'm barely hangin on the edge of lonely. tryna turn this all around before i hit the ground and end up face down...send me all your angels now.

29 January 2010

PICNIK

hoookay...soooooooooooo...allison just discovered PICNIK. i kno i'm so late in catchin on to this new fad, but i am having such a blast editing my photos and making them "better" haha

so here's all the one's i've done so far :]

btw...here's another "u can't do this bc ur mormon" rule lol
9. you're not allowed to wear skirts...that's showing too much skin (ahahahaha)

27 January 2010

January+My Life=CRAZY

ok....so it's almost the end of january (aaagghhh!!!) and a TON has happened since my last post. first on the list to speak about? all those AMAZING trips with the basketball team!

the trip to memphis was absolutely crazy, but probably the funnest out of all of them so far :]
first night there, they ordered pizzas for everyone and i chilled with christian and smoove (anthony) until 3 in the A.M. these 2 guys are most def on my "top 5" fav guys on the team.

smoove is from the lovely FL...and he's hilarious :) christian is from the Cameroon and i absolutely <3 <3 <3 his accent!!!

idk how we got to the topic of religion...but i had the opportunity to share some of my standards and beliefs with them. it had to have been one of the coolest experiences of my life. and now that they know i'm LDS...they have both come up with a HUGE list of things that i'm not allowed to do "bc you're mormon" (kinda like "its bc i'm black isn't it...? just not hahaha) according to christian..."you're not allowed to do notting..." lol

so, here's the list as of right now...i'll keep updating when new ones come up lol

1. absolutely NO dancing...esp when it involves "shaking my nasty booty" haha
2. no texting
3. no smiling :(
4. no laughing...
5. no kissing
6. no dating
7. no hugging sweaty basketball players lol
8. no passing out papers

some of these, they came up with after our night out on the town in memphis. for dinner, we all went to the BB Kings Blues Club...lemme just tell you...the food was great, but the live entertainment was FANTASTIC! i was soooo disappointed when none of the guys asked me to dance...it wasn't until the end that i was finally asked if i wanted to dance (by coach hunter) lol of course, i said YES! when i got out on the dance floor, i turned to my right and saw 12...yes, count 'em...12 camera phones out filming hahahaha

BEST.NIGHT.EVER.

next day...got creamed by memphis, but it's all good loli then had 1 day off, and then we were headed to fort wayne to take on IPFW (which we won, of course!) and then we were off to detroit, where i had the please of spending the last 15 mins of 2009 with the team bc they were too busy drinking the rest of the night...but oh well lol we played oakland on the 2nd and sadly, we got beat...but only by 3 :/

and news flash: ALLISON IS 19 NOW!
it was quite a pleasant day actually...had class and then chilled for most of the day. we went out to dinner and then i went 2 hang out with some of the singles from the singles ward. we watched tarzan and a bugs life, then garrett proceded to play some music on zee guitar :]
classes have also started up (boo!) but at least they're pretty easy (YAY!!)
and now that steph has started classes this semester, i have the pleasure of spending lots of time with her pretty much every day! i haven't spent this much time with her since we were in middle school...and i just have to say that her baby, Brady Edward Earhart (Bee for short) is one of the absolute most cutest baby ever!!

basketball is goin pretty great. they are 15-7 and we take on oakland and IPFW this week. I will probably be traveling with them on the next 3 plane trips as well...CAN'T WAIT!!!!!
only problem with this season is the ridiculous amount of injuries...

greg has broken his collar bone and possibly broke his foot yesterday.
billy has really bad knee problems
robert broke his finger
espo has ankle problems
leroy had a pretty bad ankle sprain
alexander messed up his wrist somehow
zach broke his foot
jon just about killed his wrist in the game...

i think thats it...for now lol [crossin my fingers] lol

i love those guys soooo much and thank god every day for blessing me with this opportunity <3
